Gyankroma Akufo-Addo, daughter of former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has dismissed renewed claims that she received $25 million to paint interchanges in Accra, describing the allegations as entirely unfounded.
In a statement released on Friday, March 27, she insisted that no such contract ever existed.
“Let me state, unequivocally and for the record: This claim is completely false. No such contract has ever existed, been offered, or been awarded,” she said.
The former Executive Secretary of the Creative Arts Agency challenged anyone circulating the allegations to provide evidence.
“If any individual, media platform, or commentator has such a contract, I challenge them to produce it publicly. They will not because it does not exist,” she added.
Gyankroma explained that her involvement in the Art for All initiative was independently conceived and financed, carried out through the Creative Arts Agency with support from private partners and her own contributions. She emphasised that all details of the project have already been made public and remain unchanged.
She accused certain individuals and platforms of intentionally recycling the claims to misinform the public and damage her reputation.
“The deliberate revival and spread of this fabrication, particularly across social media, is a calculated attempt to mislead the public and harm my image,” she stated.
Confirming legal action, she said: “I have instructed my lawyers to take immediate action against the individuals, platforms, and media outlets responsible for publishing and amplifying these falsehoods. I will not allow deliberate misinformation to go unchallenged.”
