Bibiani GoldStars Administrative Manager, Joseph Oti Manu, has expressed strong confidence that the club is on track to successfully defend its Ghana Premier League title.
GoldStars secured their maiden league crown last season after an impressive campaign under former head coach Frimpong Manso.
Despite a slow start to the 2025/26 season, the Bibiani-based side has bounced back strongly and now leads the standings with 48 points. This follows a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Vision FC in their last outing.
Speaking to Citi Sports, Oti Manu, who also serves as the club’s Deputy Communications Officer, credited the current technical team for the team’s resurgence.
“We believe as a team, it takes so much to just reunite us because since our new coach took over, whatever he’s done for the club is very massive and very transforming,” he said.
The team’s recent performances reflect that impact, having won five of their last six matches.
“So basically, in the last six matches we’ve won five and lost one; it tells you how much we are set for winning the league once again,” he added.
Despite their impressive form, the club remains cautious in its approach. Oti Manu emphasized the need to stay focused, drawing lessons from last season’s tightly contested title race.
“We are taking it game after game, match after match. We are not in a rush. Last season, we won the league almost on the final day.
“Everything looks set for us to just win the league back-to-back again,” he stated.
GoldStars will next face Karela United in their Matchday 27 fixture at the Aliu Mahama Stadium this weekend.
