Djiku and Oppong Peprah to join Black Stars camp in Vienna

Ghana national football team are set to be boosted by the arrival of defender Alexander Djiku and Kojo Oppong Peprah, who are expected to join the squad’s training camp in Vienna today.

Ghana’s senior national team officially opened camp on Sunday ahead of March international friendlies against Austria and Germany.

On Monday, 21 players took part in the first training session, including goalkeepers Lawrence Ati-Zigi, Benjamin Asare, and Joseph Anang; defenders Patrick Pfeiffer, Derrick Luckassen, Derrick Kohn, Jerome Opoku, Caleb Yirenkyi, Jonas Adjetey, Marvin Senaya, and Gideon Mensah; and midfielders and attackers Elisha Owusu, Ibrahim Sulemana, Kwasi Sibo, Jordan Ayew, Prince Kwabena Adu, Christopher Bonsu Baah, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Antoine Semenyo, Kamal Deen Sulemana, and Daniel Agyei.

Deputy captain Thomas Partey was present at camp but did not participate in training.

Djiku and Oppong Peprah are expected to join the squad later today as preparations continue.

The Black Stars will face Austria at the Ernst Happel Stadium on Friday, March 27, before travelling to Stuttgart to take on Germany on Monday, March 30.

These matches serve as key warm-ups ahead of Ghana’s campaign at the FIFA World Cup in North America.
