The Black Stars have officially begun preparations for their upcoming international friendlies against Austria and Germany.

The senior national team will take on Austria at Vienna’s Ernst Happel Stadium on Friday, March 27, before travelling to Stuttgart for a clash with Germany on Monday, March 30.

Head coach Otto Addo has named a 26-man squad for the matches. On Sunday, 14 players arrived in Vienna to start training, including captain Jordan Ayew and several promising newcomers.

The early arrivals feature Benjamin Asare, Patric Pfeiffer, Ibrahim Sulemana, Prince Kwabena Adu, Jonas Adjetey, Daniel Agyei, Derrick Kohn, Marvin Senaya, Gideon Mensah, Elisha Owusu, Kwasi Sibo, Jerome Opoku, and Joseph Tetteh Anang. The remaining squad members are expected to join the camp later this week.

These friendlies are part of Ghana’s build-up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be co-hosted by the USA, Canada, and Mexico. Following the European tour, the Black Stars will face Mexico in May and wrap up their preparatory games against Wales on June 2.

Ghana, making their fifth World Cup appearance, have been drawn in Group L alongside Panama, England, and Croatia. They will open their campaign against Panama on June 17, face England on June 23, and conclude the group stage against Croatia on June 27.
