A US-based Ghanaian, Vera Couch, has celebrated her birthday by extending support to children at the Enough Grace Orphanage Home in Awoshie.
The gesture, undertaken in partnership with the Opokua Ahwenee Foundation, saw the donation of various food items and essential supplies aimed at improving the welfare of the children.

Items presented included bags of rice, cooking oil, sardines and mackerel, cartons of bottled water, and assorted toiletries.
Speaking during the presentation, the Founder of the Foundation, Opokua Patience, highlighted the importance of showing care to children in orphanages, noting that such support helps instill hope and a sense of belonging.

She reiterated the Foundation’s commitment to assisting underserved communities, particularly through interventions in healthcare and education.
The Founder of the orphanage, Ohemaa Sabrina Mariam, expressed gratitude to the donors, describing the contribution as timely and impactful.

She also appealed to the general public and philanthropists to continue supporting the home to help meet the needs of the children.

Beyond orphanage support, the Foundation has also been involved in healthcare outreach. In an earlier initiative, it donated medical supplies and equipment to the Akwasiho Health Center to enhance service delivery.

The initiative reflects the growing contribution of Ghanaians in the diaspora toward humanitarian efforts and community development back home.
