The Ghana Armed Forces has announced the release of appointment letters to the first batch of successful applicants in its 2025/2026 recruitment exercise.

In a statement shared on its official Facebook page on Wednesday, March 18, the Armed Forces disclosed that a total of 2,000 applicants have been selected at this stage after successfully completing a rigorous, multi-phase recruitment process which began on November 6, 2025.

The selected candidates are expected to report to their respective training centres on Friday, March 27, 2026, to begin the next phase of their military training.

According to the statement, the recruitment exercise involved a comprehensive screening process to ensure that only qualified and capable individuals are enlisted. Applicants underwent several stages, including documentation verification, body selection, aptitude testing, medical examinations and security vetting.

The military noted that the thorough process reflects its commitment to maintaining high standards of professionalism, discipline and operational readiness.

In a notable shift from previous exercises, the GAF adopted a decentralised system for the distribution of appointment letters. Successful applicants received their letters across all 16 regional capitals, eliminating the need to travel to a central collection point.

The new approach is aimed at reducing congestion, cutting travel costs and easing administrative challenges for applicants.

Recruits have been directed to report promptly to their assigned training centres on the specified date, with authorities warning that failure to comply with instructions or timelines could lead to disqualification.

The next phase of training will focus on instilling foundational military discipline, physical fitness and essential skills required for service.

The latest intake forms part of the Armed Forces’ broader strategy to strengthen its human resource base and enhance national security preparedness.
