The Ghana Police Service has arrested three individuals in connection with a murder and assault incident at Gbiniyiri.
According to a press release from the Savannah Regional Police Command dated March 16, 2026, the suspects—Yaw Bamuah, Yaa Bokaa, and Kuma Simpor—were apprehended on March 14, 2026, by the Inspector-General of Police’s Special Intelligence Team in collaboration with the regional command.
During interrogation, Yaw Bamuah admitted involvement in the attack and provided the names of several accomplices, including Anuda Borour, Pobiye Bitunor Sansa, and James Sanyuah, who are currently being pursued by the police.
Investigations revealed that the attack was allegedly carried out in retaliation for the killing of a relative, whom the suspects believed had been attacked by robbers suspected to be Fulani.
Police also recovered a single-barrel shotgun and two live AAA cartridges from a concealed spot inside the suspect’s house at Gbiniyiri.
The suspects remain in police custody assisting with investigations and are expected to be arraigned in court, while efforts continue to apprehend the remaining individuals linked to the incident.
