The Mortuaries and Funeral Facilities Agency has temporarily closed the Enchi Government Hospital Mortuary and other facilities in the Western North Region following violations of established regulations.

Francis Ennin, Registrar of the Mortuaries and Funeral Facilities Agency, led a compliance exercise across mortuaries in the region.

During the inspection, both the Enchi Government Hospital Mortuary and Agyapa Funeral Home were found to have multiple infractions, including operating without proper registration, using air conditioners instead of approved compressors, employing unregistered staff, and maintaining unsanitary and unconducive environments.

Francis Ennin stressed that the exercise aims not to shut down businesses but to ensure adherence to safety and operational standards. He urged all mortuary operators to comply with regulations to guarantee the health, safety, and dignity of the communities they serve.
