At least eleven people were injured after two vehicles collided at Eduadjei along the Cape Coast–Takoradi Highway on Tuesday evening.

In a statement, the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) said the accident occurred shortly after 7:15 p.m., prompting a swift response from personnel at the Komenda Fire Station.

On arrival, firefighters discovered that an Opel Astra travelling from Cape Coast towards Komenda had collided head-on with a Nissan mini bus moving in the opposite direction.

Ten passengers aboard the mini bus were assisted out of the wreckage by bystanders and rushed to the Elmina Poly Clinic for medical attention. The driver of the Opel Astra was trapped in his vehicle and had to be extricated before being taken to the same facility.

The victims included nine males and two females.

Firefighters later cleared debris from the highway to ease traffic congestion and restore the flow of vehicles.

Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the accident.
