The Chief of Kpikpira, Naba Dazuur II, has called for an immediate end to hostilities between the Fulani and Bimoba communities in Kongo, Tempane District, Upper East Region, stressing that peace is crucial for development.
He made the appeal during the 24th Danjuar Festival 2026 held in Kpikpira, which brought together traditional leaders, residents, and stakeholders to celebrate their cultural heritage and reflect on pressing local issues.

According to Naba Dazuur II, chieftaincy and tribal conflicts remain major obstacles to development in northern Ghana, with persistent tensions discouraging investment and disrupting livelihoods.
Kongo, a farming community in the Tempane District, has in recent times witnessed violent clashes between the Fulani and Bimoba communities, resulting in loss of lives, destruction of property, and setbacks to development initiatives.

Addressing festival participants, the chief urged residents of Kongo and neighboring communities to prioritise peace, unity, and dialogue to restore stability and foster an environment conducive to growth. He emphasised that sustainable development can only thrive where there is harmony among the people.
The Member of Parliament for Garu, Dr. Thomas Winsum Anaba, who chaired the event, also highlighted the importance of peaceful coexistence, noting that dialogue and mutual understanding are key to resolving disputes and ensuring lasting progress in the district.
The Danjuar Festival, an annual cultural event in Kpikpira, serves as a platform for community reflection, cultural preservation, and discussions on development challenges affecting the area.
