England defender Marc Guehi has admitted that stopping Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo will be a major test when the two sides meet at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Three Lions have been drawn in Group L alongside Ghana, Canada and Mexico for the tournament, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Speaking ahead of the much-anticipated group-stage encounter, Guehi was full of praise for Semenyo and the overall quality within the Ghana squad.

“Of course [it’s going to be a challenge stopping this guy], and they’ve got a fantastic team with great players as well,” he said.

The clash between England and Ghana is scheduled for June 23 and is already shaping up as one of the standout fixtures of the group stage.

Semenyo heads into the tournament in fine form, having enjoyed an impressive club campaign with 12 league goals to his name so far this season, underlining his growing influence at the top level.

Both Guehi and Semenyo are expected to be in action in the Premier League this weekend, with their respective clubs set for tough outings as domestic action continues ahead of the international showpiece.
