Spanish physiotherapist Carlos Lozano Romero has rejoined the Ghana Black Stars ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup this summer.

Lozano, who was part of the national team’s backroom staff during Ghana’s 2022 World Cup campaign in Qatar, is expected to bring continuity to the squad, focusing on player recovery, injury prevention, and overall physical conditioning.

He will collaborate closely with the technical and medical teams to maintain players in peak condition throughout the World Cup preparation phase and the tournament itself.

His prior experience at the international level is seen as a valuable asset as Ghana faces some of the world’s strongest teams.

Lozano will report to head coach Otto Addo as the Black Stars aim for a competitive showing on the global stage.

The Black Stars are scheduled to regroup in March for friendly matches against Austria and Germany as part of their World Cup build-up.

Drawn in Group L alongside Panama, England, and Croatia, Ghana will be looking to advance past the group stage, having exited at this point in both the 2014 and 2022 tournaments.
