The Amasaman High Court has released the official document reducing the 15-year jail term for controversial evangelist and former traditional priestess Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, popularly known as Nana Agradaa.

Presiding Judge Justice Solomon Oppong Twumasi, on Thursday, February 5, 2026, stated that the original sentence of 15 years with hard labour, imposed by the trial court, was disproportionate to the circumstances of the case and required adjustment.

Describing the initial punishment as excessive, the court upheld her conviction but revised her custodial term to 12 calendar months.

The court directed that the revised sentence run from the date of her conviction on July 3, 2025, meaning Nana Agradaa will now serve a total of one year in prison.

The founder of Heaven Way Champion Ministries International Church was handed the original jail term after being found guilty of charlatanic advertisement and defrauding by false pretence. She filed an appeal seeking to overturn the sentence.

In her appeal, Nana Agradaa argued that the original trial was improperly conducted and that the prosecution failed to prove its case beyond a reasonable doubt. She also contended that the sentence imposed was excessive.
