Former Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, has dismissed reports claiming he was arrested by the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) over allegations related to paid overseas scholarships.

The claims, which circulated widely on social media on Thursday afternoon, were described by Mr. Nkansah in a Facebook post as false and should be disregarded.

He stressed that he has not been picked up by any security agency.

Speaking on Sompa 106.5 FM, Mr. Nkansah alleged that an individual had paid money to secure a scholarship to study abroad.

Following the claims, President John Mahama has directed the NIB to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter, determine the factual basis of the allegations, identify any individuals involved, and report back.

The findings will guide any further action that may be necessary.
