Angel Asiamah, husband of evangelist and former traditional priestess Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, has welcomed the decision of the Amasaman High Court to reduce her jail term, describing it as a huge relief for the family.
In a ruling delivered on Thursday, February 5, 2026, the court upheld Nana Agradaa’s conviction but revised her custodial sentence to 12 calendar months.
The presiding judge held that the initial sentence of 15 years with hard labour imposed by the trial court was disproportionate to the circumstances of the case and therefore required adjustment.
Speaking to journalists at the court premises after the ruling, Mr. Asiamah expressed visible excitement.
“I am the happiest man on earth,” he said in Twi.
The court further ordered that the new sentence should run from the date of her conviction on July 3, 2025, meaning the controversial evangelist will serve a total of one year in prison.
In explaining its decision, the court noted that while the offence warranted punishment, the original sentence was excessive and had to be reviewed downward.
With the latest ruling, Nana Agradaa’s conviction remains intact, but the duration of her incarceration has been significantly reduced.
