Deputy Chief of Staff Stan Dogbe has issued a public apology over an incident involving a military officer at the Ghana Military Academy on January 30.

In a post shared on Facebook, Mr Dogbe apologised to Corporal Ofosu after physically pushing him during a ceremony. He explained that the incident occurred after the officer repeatedly interfered with the work of a live camera operator covering the event.

“This is to apologise to my friend, Cpl Ofosu, for physically pushing him away after his repeated disruption of a live camera operator during today’s ceremony,” he wrote.

Mr Dogbe admitted that his conduct was inappropriate and expressed confidence that the apology would be accepted by the officer and other members of the security services.

He described Corporal Ofosu and other security personnel as colleagues and friends, stressing that the incident would not affect their working relationship.

The Deputy Chief of Staff also underscored the importance of stronger cooperation and coordination between civilian officials and security agencies during public events.

“I know he and my other friends in uniform will accept my apology as we work to improve our existing collaboration at events,” he added.

The incident, which occurred in public view, quickly gained traction on social media, triggering debate over protocol, crowd control and the conduct of public officials at state functions.
