A four-bedroom residential property has been completely destroyed by fire in the early hours of Wednesday morning at Agogo China in the Asante Akyem North District of the Ashanti Region.

The fire, which broke out at about 4:30 a.m., threw the quiet community into panic as residents woke up to thick smoke and raging flames engulfing the building.

According to residents, the Ghana National Fire Service could not arrive promptly, forcing community members to mobilise and attempt to douse the fire themselves.

However, their efforts were hampered by severe water shortages, allowing the flames to spread rapidly and consume the entire structure before the fire was eventually brought under control.

All four bedrooms and household items within the building were destroyed, leaving the occupants counting heavy losses.

Fortunately, no injuries or deaths were recorded.

The Assembly Member for the area, Albert Boakye, confirmed the incident and said the Fire Service was unable to respond because there was no fire tender available at the time of the outbreak.

He expressed disappointment that no fire officer showed up to access the situation despite their challenge.

The cause of the fire is yet to be established, and affected residents have appealed for support as they begin the process of rebuilding after the incident.
