Hearts of Oak kept their title hopes alive with a commanding 3-0 victory over bottom-placed Eleven Wonders in Matchday 20 action.
The clash at the University of Ghana Stadium saw the Phobian side take control early, with Mawuli Wayo giving Hearts the lead in the 8th minute. The hosts held onto the advantage through to half-time.
After the break, Martin Karikari extended the lead in the 63rd minute, and Kelvin Osei Asibey wrapped up the win from the penalty spot in the 77th minute.
The result moves Hearts of Oak up to second place on 35 points. They could remain there by the end of the match week depending on other outcomes, and will face Bechem United in Matchday 21 next weekend.
For Eleven Wonders, the loss keeps them rooted at the bottom of the table with just 9 points, leaving them dangerously close to the relegation zone. They will travel to Wenchi Sports Stadium to take on Young Apostles next weekend.
