Two twin brothers, identified as Atta Kofi and Ebi Wom, both aged 28, have allegedly beaten a 33-year-old man to death at Sefwi Boinzan in the Juaboso District of the Western North Region.
The deceased, Theophilus Gyamfi, popularly known as Kwasi KK, was reportedly washing gold in a river within the community at the time of the incident—an activity that residents strongly frown upon.
According to reports, one of the twins, who lives near the river, confronted Gyamfi and asked him to stop the activity. The deceased reportedly refused, leading to a heated argument.
The situation escalated when the second twin joined the confrontation, resulting in a physical altercation. During the fight, the twins are alleged to have severely assaulted Gyamfi.
He was initially taken home for treatment, but his condition later deteriorated, prompting family members to rush him to the Juaboso Government Hospital. He was, however, pronounced dead on the way to the facility.
The Assembly Member for the Boinzan Electoral Area, Aha Kojo Vincent, confirmed the incident and disclosed that the suspects fled the community after the attack.
The body of the deceased has since been deposited at the Juaboso Government Hospital mortuary, while police have launched investigations and a manhunt to locate and arrest the suspects.
