The Oti Regional Minister, John Kwadwo Gyapong, has challenged the Kaakye Youth Association to position itself as a driving force for development in the region.

According to the minister, meaningful progress cannot be achieved if the youth remain silent on issues affecting their communities. He made the call during a courtesy visit by the Kaakye Youth Association, where discussions focused on challenges and opportunities for the region’s growth.

In his address, Mr. Gyapong outlined several major infrastructure projects planned for the Oti Region this year, including the construction of a bridge over the Oti River, a regional hospital, military barracks and other initiatives aimed at improving socio-economic development.

He also assured residents of government’s commitment to addressing persistent water and electricity challenges in the region.

The Regional Minister further called for all regional administrative offices still operating from the Volta Region to be relocated permanently to Dambai, the regional capital, to enhance effective governance and coordination of state institutions.

Expressing concern about the slow pace of infrastructure development in the Oti Region, Mr. Gyapong urged the youth to actively engage and rally support to ensure government delivers the needed development.

For his part, the National President of the Kaakye Youth Association, Emmanuel Ntoso, commended the minister and government for the ongoing construction of the Oti River bridge and other development projects.

He reaffirmed the Association’s commitment to supporting government initiatives aimed at accelerating development and transforming the Oti Region.
