A fire outbreak has destroyed a carpentry shop near the Akyem Mamanso Cemetery in the New Abirem Municipality, causing an estimated loss of more than GH¢180,000.
Firefighters from the New Abirem Municipal Fire Station were alerted at about 12:52 a.m. and promptly dispatched an eight-member crew to the scene.

The team arrived within minutes and managed to bring the fire under control by 1:25 a.m., before fully extinguishing it at about 2:13 a.m.
Their swift intervention prevented the blaze from spreading to nearby structures.

Although the carpentry shop and its contents were completely destroyed, no injuries or fatalities were recorded.
Items lost included wood materials, machinery, and finished products, with preliminary estimates placing the value of the damage at about GH¢185,000.

The cause of the fire is yet to be officially established, while investigations are ongoing.
The Ghana National Fire Service has once again urged the public, particularly artisans and small business operators, to observe basic fire safety measures to prevent similar incidents.
