Former Member of Parliament for Lawra and Senior Advisor to the Bawumia Campaign, Anthony Abayifaa Karbo, has said the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is not swayed by the perceived momentum surrounding any presidential aspirant ahead of the party’s primaries.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show, Mr Karbo expressed confidence in the party’s delegates, describing them as discerning and consistent in making the right choices.
“The momentum doesn’t faze me. The NPP delegates have a strong track record of making the right decisions. This election isn’t as intense as some might think. The most heated and controversial election in the NPP was between Alan and Akufo-Addo. Although that election had the potential to divide the party, it ultimately united the NPP instead,” he said.
According to Mr Karbo, the ongoing primary is not driven by theatrics or political antics but by genuine support from the grassroots.
He maintained that former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia continues to earn backing based on his work and track record, insisting that this, rather than noise or perceived momentum, will determine the outcome of the NPP presidential primary.
“The grassroots will have their say, and leadership must pay attention. The tactics used in this election don’t really matter; the delegates are savvy. What truly counts is the genuine support for the candidate. Bawumia is doing the necessary work,” he added.
