Akrofuom Member of Parliament, Joseph Azumah, has revealed that some fuel stations are now providing free breakfast to customers with every fuel purchase, citing it as a reflection of improvements under President John Mahama’s administration.

Speaking on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem, Mr. Azumah described the initiative as symbolic of a broader economic turnaround, which has brought relief to commuters, vehicle owners, and households grappling with rising costs in recent years.

While he did not list all fuel stations participating in the initiative, he confirmed personally witnessing the program at Nima GOIL.

“You even get breakfast when you buy fuel. It may be surprising, but it is the truth,” he told listeners. He noted that at least three stations, including Nima GOIL, have adopted the offer, emphasizing that the promotion is not a paid endorsement but reflects the changing economic landscape.

According to Mr. Azumah, these improvements have reversed trends that previously saw many Ghanaians limiting travel or parking their vehicles due to high fuel costs.

“Now people who parked their cars because of fuel prices have started driving. We now have more private vehicles than commercial vehicles on the road,” he said.

He added that fuel prices have dropped significantly, prompting some citizens to stock up in anticipation of potential price increases with any change in government.

Mr. Azumah also observed that migration to neighboring towns has slowed, as life in Ghana becomes more affordable and sustainable for residents.

He attributed these positive developments to government policies implemented in the first year of President Mahama’s administration, describing them as unprecedented and evidence of a rapidly improving economic environment.
