Fuel tanker involved in accident on Mankessim-Fosu road

A fuel tanker carrying 54,000 litres of petrol was involved in an accident at Dominase Toboase along the Mankessim–Fosu (N8) highway in the Central Region.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday, January 15, 2026, involving a tanker with registration number AS 5140-24.

Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) were quickly deployed to secure the scene, manage the crowd, and prevent a potential fire outbreak.

Confirming the accident, Deputy Central Regional Public Relations Officer of the GNFS, ADOI Ebenezer Fiifi Dadzie, warned road users to exercise caution as residents from nearby communities gathered at the site, attempting to siphon fuel.

No casualties were reported, and investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
