Three family members, one other arrested over armed robbery attack on small-scale miner at Sefwi Abrokofe

Police in the Juaboso District of the Western North Region have arrested four suspects, including three family members, in connection with a violent armed robbery targeting a small-scale miner and his workers at Sefwi Abrokofe.

The incident occurred on September 24, 2025, when armed men invaded the mining site and stole valuables from the miner and his team.

Following the attack, a security guard at the site, Francis Enning, also known as Aban, 26, was arrested and remanded to assist with investigations.

On January 11, 2026, police intelligence led to the arrest of an accomplice, Gideon Tanoh, alias Appee, 21, at Sefwi Boinzan.

During the operation, another suspect, Anthony Ahwoi, also known as Nana One, a 22-year-old Okada rider from Juaboso, tried to obstruct the arrest and was subsequently apprehended after reinforcements from the Juaboso night patrol unit were deployed.

Both Gideon Tanoh and Anthony Ahwoi were remanded by the Juaboso District Court and are expected to reappear on January 27, 2026.

In a further development, police on January 13, 2026, arrested another accomplice, Yaw Tweneboah Kodua, 21, at Sefwi Abrokofe. He is currently in custody and will be arraigned soon.

Investigations have revealed that Francis Enning, Gideon Tanoh, and Yaw Tweneboah Kodua are family members and natives of Sefwi Abrokofe.
