Asante Kotoko have completed the signing of 21-year-old forward Dogo Yakubu in the ongoing winter transfer window.
The promising attacker has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract after successfully passing his medicals.
Yakubu joins the Porcupine Warriors from Midcity Football Academy, where he developed his game and gained valuable senior-level experience.
Speaking after completing the move, the young forward expressed excitement about the opportunity to join the Kumasi-based giants.
“I’m still young, and I believe I have a huge chance here to make a name for myself,” Yakubu said.
“Joining Kotoko is a big opportunity for my career, and I’m grateful for the trust the club has shown in me. I’m ready to work hard, learn every day, and take my chances when they come.
“I want to improve, score goals, and help the team succeed,” he added.
Head coach Karim Zito explained that Yakubu’s signing aligns with the club’s long-term vision.
“This signing is part of our plan for the future. Dogo is young, hungry, and has the qualities we look for in a modern striker,” Zito said.
“We believe in giving young players the right platform to develop, and this is the right environment for him to grow, gain confidence, and become an important player for the club over time,” he added.
Renowned for his pace, intelligent movement and eye for goal, Yakubu is viewed as a long-term attacking prospect as Kotoko continue to strengthen their squad.
He becomes the club’s second signing of the January transfer window, following the arrival of Prince Badu from Nations FC.
