A 25-year-old man has sustained severe cutlass injuries at Nzema Nkwanta, a farming community in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality of the Western North Region, following an altercation over a motorbike.
The victim, identified as Charles Apraku, was allegedly attacked by a 34-year-old man, Yaw Micheal, after he reportedly pushed the suspect’s motorbike to the ground during a misunderstanding.
Confirming the incident, the Unit Committee Chairman for Nzema Nkwanta, Boateng David, said he received a distress call indicating that the suspect inflicted deep cutlass wounds on the victim’s right hand, resulting in a fractured bone.
Residents in the community quickly intervened and rushed the injured man to the Bibiani Municipal Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment.
Meanwhile, the suspect is said to have fled the scene and is currently on the run.
Mr Boateng added that the matter has been reported to the police, who have assured the community that efforts are underway to arrest the suspect as investigations continue.
