Residents of Kasoa in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region have been left in shock after the body of a young man, believed to be in his early 30s, was found murdered and dumped in the Okrudu River.
The deceased, described by residents as fair in complexion, had multiple cutlass wounds on his body, suggesting he was violently attacked before being abandoned at the riverside.
His identity remains unknown, and it is unclear whether he was involved in any criminal activity prior to his death.
Personnel from the Awutu Senya East Municipal National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), led by Nash Nyande, together with the area Assembly Member, conveyed the body to the Police Hospital Mortuary for preservation and autopsy.
NADMO officials say no family member or acquaintance has so far come forward to identify the body, while police investigations into the incident are ongoing.
