IGP Yohuno promotes 13 police officers for distinguished service

Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has approved the promotion of 13 senior officers of the Ghana Police Service in recognition of their outstanding service and dedication to duty.

The promotions were announced on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, as part of the Police Administration’s broader efforts to reward professionalism, commitment and sacrifice within the Service.

A decoration ceremony was held at the National Police Headquarters at Cantonments in Accra, where the officers were formally adorned with their new ranks.

Addressing the gathering, IGP Yohuno explained that the decision followed a careful assessment of the officers’ conduct and performance over time.

He noted that their perseverance, resilience and consistent display of professionalism in the discharge of their duties.

The IGP said the promotions were intended not only to honour the achievements of the 13 officers but also to inspire personnel across the Service to uphold integrity, discipline and excellence.

Mr Yohuno urged all officers to remain committed to serving the nation, assuring them that dedication, loyalty and hard work would continue to be recognised and rewarded by the Police Administration.
