The Chief Fire Officer(CFO) of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), Daniella Mawusi Ntow Sarpong, on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, made a generous Christmas donation to the Osu Children’s Home, bringing joy and vital safety support.

Speaking during the visit, Madam Ntow Sarpong expressed delight at sharing the joy of the Christmas season with the facility and underscored the Fire Service’s commitment to compassion and safety.

“We are hounded as a service to be at this wonderful institution. We are delighted to bring joy this Christmas season. As the Chief Fire Officer of the Ghana National Fire Service, fire safety is paramount to me. I want to remind everyone, especially the children and the entire institute, about the importance of fire safety and emergency,” she said.

She took time to admonish the children on the dangers of fire, urging them to avoid actions that could trigger fire outbreaks.

“To the children, I want to remind you that you are the future leaders and heroes of the country. Always remember that Fire is a good servant but a bad master. Never play with candles, match sticks, fire, or electrical gadgets, and ensure to raise alarm when you see smoke or fire.”

As part of the donation, the GNFS provided essential firefighting and safety equipment to enhance protection at the facility.

“We are proud to support the institution with fire fighting equipment, which will be installed around the entire facility.”

Items donated included fire alarms, fire extinguishers, bags of water, bottled water, and assorted snacks and Christmas paraphernalia.

The visit was crowned with festive cheer as Madam Ntow Sarpong joined the children to dance to Christmas carols performed by the Fire Service band.

The GNFS team also held a practical demonstration, teaching the children how to properly use a fire extinguisher in the event of a fire outbreak.

For their part, the management of the Osu Children’s Home expressed gratitude to Madam Sarpong and the GNFS for their timely support and also putting smiles on the faces of the children.

The gesture highlighted the Fire Service’s dual role of safeguarding lives while spreading goodwill during the Christmas season.
