One hundred and nine (109) Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in the Pru East District of the Bono East Region have received start-up equipment from the Pru East District Assembly as part of efforts to promote economic empowerment and self-reliance among vulnerable groups.

The initiative, funded through the District Assembly Common Fund, is part of the government’s broader social intervention programmes aimed at improving livelihoods and integrating PWDs meaningfully into the local economy.
Addressing the beneficiaries, the Member of Parliament for the area, Mr. Emmanuel Kwaku Boam, urged them to make productive use of the equipment to enhance their livelihoods and support their families. He emphasized that the gesture was intended to empower them to become self-sufficient and contribute to the development of the district.

“The support you have received is an opportunity to transform your lives. Use these items prudently to justify the confidence reposed in you by the government and the district assembly,” the MP advised.
In an interview with Adom News, the Pru East District Chief Executive, Mr. Abdul Nasiri Dawuda, expressed profound gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama, the Member of Parliament, and the District Assembly for the timely intervention.
The District Assembly reaffirmed its commitment to supporting PWDs through inclusive policies and programmes aimed at reducing poverty and enhancing social inclusion.
Some beneficiaries also shared their appreciation, describing the initiative as life-changing and pledging to use the equipment responsibly to establish or expand their small-scale businesses.
