Accident at Juaso Junction leaves one student in critical condition

Three male students and a taxi driver were involved in a road accident at Juaso Junction in the Asante Akyem South Municipality, leaving one student in critical condition.

The students, who attend Asankare Technical Youth School, were returning home for the Christmas holidays when the accident occurred. They had boarded a taxi from Asankare to Juaso.

According to eyewitnesses, the taxi driver attempted a wrongful overtaking and collided with an Asante Akyem towing vehicle, while a cargo truck that was parked by the roadside was also involved in the crash.

Two of the students sustained minor injuries, while the third student was left in critical condition. The taxi driver reportedly fled the scene after the accident.

The injured students are currently receiving treatment at the Juaso Government Hospital and are said to be responding well to treatment.

The cargo truck involved in the accident bears the registration number AS 8210 P, while the taxi’s registration number is AS 5221 F.
