The Navrongo Divisional Police Command has stepped up security measures ahead of the Christmas festivities, conducting a special anti-crime operation on Wednesday, December 18, 2025, to ensure public safety.
The exercise, which began around 6:00 p.m., targeted identified crime-prone areas within the Navrongo township.
In a statement, the Police said at the end of the operation, eight suspects were arrested in connection with suspected criminal activities.
Those picked up include Mohammed Nasiru, 35; Pwoawuvi Isaac, 24; Roger Kansah, 35; Akinkana Akanpiiba, 30; Kingsley Adafula, 22; Abraham Akanporise, 25; Zakaria Mohammed, 25; and Clinton Atinmoliga, 25.

Police also retrieved several items during the operation, including tramadol tablets, seven pairs of scissors, a mobile phone, a television set, and a motorcycle.
The suspects are currently in police custody assisting with investigations.

According to the police, those found culpable after screening will be arraigned before court to face prosecution.

The Ghana Police Service has reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining law and order throughout the festive season and has called on residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
