The Sehwi Bodi Circuit Court in the Bodi District of the Western North Region, presided over by His Highness Frank Asiedu Nimako, has remanded self-acclaimed Mallam and suspected armed robber Victor Biney, also known as Abeiku, for a violent attack on miners at Sehwi Antobia in the Juaboso District.
Biney’s remand follows the court’s denial of his bail plea, submitted by his lawyer. The suspect was remanded on December 18, 2025, and is scheduled to reappear in court on January 15, 2026.
Victor Biney is notorious in the Juaboso communities as both an armed robber and a Mallam who allegedly initiates young men and women into supposed “black powers” for protection against guns and cutlasses.
Since his arrest, Biney has been linked to a series of robbery incidents. Among the most notorious is a daylight robbery in Juaboso, during which one person was shot dead and a large sum of money was stolen from a wholesale shop.
The suspect also faces another pending criminal case, with a full judgment expected on Monday, December 22, 2025, at the Bibiani Circuit Court.
