As part of efforts to promote peace and stability in the Nkwanta South Municipality of the Oti Region, the Ghana Institute of Linguistics, Literacy and Bible Translation (GILLBT) has donated Bibles to local chiefs and senior high schools.

The Bibles, distributed in languages including Dikola-Fon (Adele), Uwumbor Aagban Likpakpaaln (Konkomba), Geno Poboro Gebono Wubuaare Gi yege mo-re anyamese me wera mo (Gikyode), English, and Challa, were presented to schools such as Nkwanta SHS, Gyabobo Girls, and Nkwanta Community SHTS.
The initiative forms part of GILLBT’s nationwide outreach program, which aims to empower communities through language development and translation while fostering spiritual growth among diverse ethnic groups and students.

Speaking at the event, GILLBT Communications Manager Otabil Arthur explained that the Bible distribution responds to challenges in the municipality that hinder development and stability. He emphasized that the initiative seeks to inspire young people to spread the Gospel of peace, strengthen spiritual lives, and promote unity and responsible living.
He urged chiefs and students to read the Bible daily and preach peace in all areas of life, noting that lasting peace can only be achieved through spiritual guidance. Otabil Arthur also called on all feuding factions in Nkwanta South to seek Christ, whom he described as the ultimate healer and source of hope.
Municipal Chief Executive Joseph Antwi Awal expressed gratitude to GILLBT for supporting peace efforts in the region. He highlighted the importance of such initiatives in shaping the moral character of youth and fostering lasting harmony within the municipality, appealing to GILLBT to continue and expand the program to include all schools in the area.
