Black Galaxies head coach Kasim Mingle has praised his team’s performance despite a narrow 1-0 defeat to South Africa in an international friendly.

Ghana conceded a 57th-minute goal from Sipho Mbule at the Dobsonville Stadium on Tuesday afternoon to suffer the slim loss.

Speaking after the match, Mingle highlighted the progress made by his squad, which had just three weeks of preparation.

“It was a very good performance from my boys. We had just three weeks in camp, yet they put up a strong display, and I’m very happy with them,” Mingle said.

“This is a new team we are building; it was hard luck, and we deserved to equalise.

“Overall, I am very satisfied with the performance,” he added.

The Black Galaxies will now turn their focus to qualifying for the 2026 African Nations Championship (CHAN), while South Africa prepare for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, which kicks off this weekend.
