The Member of Parliament for Ho Central, Richmond Edem Kofi Kpotosu, has engaged auto-rickshaw operators, popularly known as Mahama Can Do or keke riders, in the constituency following the passage of a new parliamentary bill aimed at regulating and improving their operations.
In an interview with Adom News, the MP said the engagement formed part of his responsibility as a legislator to educate constituents, particularly kandu riders, on the content and implications of laws passed by Parliament.

He explained that the interaction was intended to ensure the riders fully understand the new legal framework and how it will affect their day-to-day activities.
Mr Kpotosu also urged the riders to strictly comply with road traffic regulations and safety guidelines, stressing that adherence to the law will help safeguard lives and promote order on roads within the Ho Central Municipality.
Some of the riders, in response, expressed gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama and Members of Parliament for passing the bill, describing it as a significant step towards addressing long-standing challenges in the sector. They said the law gives them renewed hope for improved regulation and recognition of their work.

Others, however, used the opportunity to raise concerns about challenges they previously faced with the Ho Central Municipal Assembly, including enforcement practices and operational restrictions. They expressed optimism that such issues would be resolved under the new legislative framework.
The engagement ended with a call for sustained dialogue among the MP, municipal authorities and kandu riders to ensure smooth implementation of the law and harmonious coexistence within the municipality.
