The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) has cautioned the public about a fraudulent SMS circulating on social media, which falsely claims that applicants in the ongoing recruitment exercise have progressed to the next phase and must pay a fee.
In a press release dated December 15, 2025, signed by Deputy Commissioner of Immigration in charge of Public Affairs, Maud Anima Quainoo, the Service described the message as misleading. It clarified that neither GIS nor the Ministry of the Interior has announced the commencement of the next recruitment phase.
The statement noted that the application process remains open until the official deadline of December 19, 2025.
The Service urged applicants and the public to disregard the fake messages and avoid interacting with individuals or groups behind the scam. It emphasized that all official communication will come only through approved SMS alerts, official email addresses, phone numbers, or the C-SERP recruitment portal.
Applicants were also warned to be cautious of unauthorized “protocol” offers or other inducements related to the recruitment exercise.
