Fire destroys parts of Jacobu Police Quarters

A fire outbreak at the Jacobu Police Quarters in the Ashanti Region destroyed four rooms and their contents, though firefighters from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) successfully salvaged six other rooms.

The incident occurred at House No. AV-0017-3613, near St. Peter’s Preparatory School.

In a statement, the GNFS explained that firefighters from the Bekwai Fire Station received a distress call at 11:56 a.m. on Thursday, November 13, 2025. Despite the long distance and challenging road conditions, they arrived on the scene by 12:25 p.m.

Led by STNO II Agyemang Duah, the team brought the fire under control by 12:34 p.m. and fully extinguished it at 1:28 p.m.

According to the Ashanti Regional Public Relations Officer, six of the ten rooms at the quarters, along with their contents, were saved through tactical firefighting efforts. Fortunately, no injuries or fatalities were reported.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown, and investigations are ongoing.
