The Attorney-General, Dr. Dominic Ayine, has praised President John Dramani Mahama for appointing Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie as Ghana’s new Chief Justice, describing him as the ideal candidate for the role.

Speaking in Parliament on Thursday, November 13, Dr. Ayine highlighted Justice Baffoe-Bonnie’s qualifications, integrity, and extensive judicial experience as key factors that make him exceptionally suited for the position.

“We have no doubt that the President appointed the right person to the position of Chief Justice. He possesses high moral character, proven integrity, and over 15 years of legal experience. Baffoe-Bonnie more than qualifies; he has served as a Supreme Court Justice for more than a decade, and there has been no integrity issue on his part. His experience is undoubtedly needed at this point in our history,” Dr. Ayine stated.

He further noted that a background check conducted by the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) cleared Justice Baffoe-Bonnie of any wrongdoing.

“NIB conducted a thorough background search on him, and the report gave a clean bill of health,” Dr. Ayine added.
