Afrobeats superstar Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, caused a stir during his concert in Colorado after pausing his performance to call out a fan whose girlfriend appeared to be sleeping during the show.
In a viral video, the Grammy-winning singer stopped mid-performance and angrily addressed the audience.
“We’re doing this sh*t because we’re f¥cking doing it, and we love you. Do you understand? So when I see you over there with your girl sleeping in front of me, it pisses me the f¥ck off. Take her home. Fast. I’m not doing another song until you go,” he said.
The crowd reacted instantly, with some fans pleading for the couple to leave and others urging Burna Boy to continue. One fan shouted, “Please, it’s my birthday!” but the singer remained firm. Security eventually escorted the couple out, allowing the concert to resume.
The incident has gone viral, sparking mixed reactions on social media. While some defended Burna Boy, saying he was right to demand energy and respect from his audience, others criticised his response as excessive.
Known for his passionate stage presence, Burna Boy has previously clashed with fans he perceives as disrespectful during his shows.
