The Chief Executive Officer of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Godwin Kudzo Tameklo Esq., on Wednesday paid a courtesy call on former President John Agyekum Kufuor at his residence in Peduase.
The visit formed part of preparations for the upcoming NPA @20 anniversary celebrations and provided an opportunity for Mr. Tameklo to formally brief the former President on activities planned to mark the milestone.
Mr. Tameklo commended former President Kufuor for his foresight and leadership in establishing the NPA during his administration, noting that the Authority’s two decades of progress were built on that solid foundation.
He also extended an invitation to the former President to participate in the celebrations.
Former President Kufuor expressed appreciation for the visit and accepted the invitation. He congratulated the NPA on reaching its 20-year milestone and encouraged Mr. Tameklo to lead the Authority with integrity and professionalism to ensure continued growth in Ghana’s downstream petroleum sector.
The NPA delegation accompanying Mr. Tameklo included Mr. Joseph Awan, Director of Risk and Chairman of the 20th Anniversary Planning Committee; Mrs. Maria Oquaye, Director of Corporate Affairs and Co-Chair of the Planning Committee; Mrs. Racheal Naa Atswei Nee-Okpey, Head of Communications; Mrs. Genevieve Bissue, Head of Protocol and Logistics; Mr. Emmanuel Mensah Hanson, Executive Assistant to the CEO; and Mr. Maxwell Boakye, Special Aide to the CEO.
The Authority’s 20th anniversary celebrations are expected to highlight its achievements, partnerships, and key reforms within Ghana’s petroleum downstream sector since its establishment.
