Shatta Wale bigger than any political party in mobilisation – John Boadu

-

Aspiring National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu, has praised dancehall artiste Shatta Wale for his massive influence among Ghanaian youth, describing him as “bigger than any political party” when it comes to event organisation.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen, Mr. Boadu cited the huge turnout at Shatta Wale’s recent birthday concert at Independence Square as proof of the musician’s unmatched ability to mobilise crowds.

“The crowd Shatta Wale pulled for his birthday concert, no political party can achieve that,” he said.

According to him, the NPP should draw lessons from Shatta Wale’s approach and rethink its strategy towards youth engagement and rebranding.

He explained that the majority of new voters, particularly those aged 18 to 27, are more influenced by celebrities and social media personalities than by traditional political messaging.

“Those who turned 18 in the last four years number close to six million, and many of them look up to influencers like Shatta Wale and Efia Odo,” he observed.

“To win their trust, our campaign must resonate with their interests — it’s a new era,” he added.

Mr. Boadu stressed that the NPP must adopt a youth-centered communication strategy driven by influencers and creative industry figures to stay relevant and competitive in future elections.
