Hearts of Oak Communications Director, Kwame Opare Addo, has expressed disappointment following the Rainbow Club’s 1-0 loss to rivals Asante Kotoko in Sunday’s Super Clash at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Guinean striker Morifing Donzo’s first-half goal proved decisive, ending Hearts of Oak’s unbeaten start to the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports Show, Opare Addo acknowledged that the defeat was painful but stressed that the team remains focused on its objectives.
“We didn’t get the three points we were hoping for, but there are still many games to be played. I must admit that it’s painful, but we have a strong squad, and we will continue to fight together with our fans,” he said.
He also called on supporters to stay steadfast despite the setback.
“We all went through this together, and we aimed to finish the game on a positive note. No matter what has happened, let’s continue to support the team, and I believe we will achieve our goals,” he added.
The loss leaves Hearts of Oak in sixth place on the league table with 16 points. The club will host Swedru All Blacks in their Matchday 10 fixture this weekend.
