A 43-year-old man, identified as Yaw Owusu, popularly known as “Angolo,” has been arrested for allegedly stabbing his younger brother to death during a heated confrontation at Awerempe, a suburb of the Berekum West Municipality in the Bono Region.
According to eyewitness accounts, the altercation occurred between Owusu and his 25-year-old brother, Bright Abotsi, and quickly escalated into violence.
In the course of the argument, Owusu allegedly stabbed Bright in the chest with a knife.
The victim was rushed to the Holy Family Hospital in Berekum but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Police sources say the suspect attempted to flee after the incident but was later arrested and is currently in custody assisting with investigations.
The body of the deceased has been deposited at the hospital morgue for autopsy, while investigations continue to determine the exact cause of the confrontation.
