Kasoa NDC Zongo Caucus slams leadership over appointment snub

-

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Zongo Caucus in the Awutu Senya East Constituency, Kasoa, has expressed deep dissatisfaction with the party’s local leadership, accusing them of sidelining loyal members in recent appointments.

According to the caucus, despite their significant contribution to the party’s electoral victory, they have been ignored by the constituency executives, Municipal Chief Executive Seth Banini, and Member of Parliament Phyllis Naa Koryoo Okunor.

At a press conference, the group alleged that key positions were given to individuals who contributed little or nothing to the NDC’s success. They further claimed that the MCE appointed an NPP sympathizer as his bodyguard and awarded National Security roles to outsiders, leaving committed party members without jobs.

Some members lamented that their families now ridicule them for remaining unemployed nearly a year after the elections. They also accused the CEO of the Gold Board, Sammy Gyamfi, of refusing to assist them in securing job opportunities.

The caucus warned that regional and national party executives should not hold them responsible if frustrations escalate into chaos in the constituency.

Kasoa Zongo Zonal Coordinator and branch chairman, Ismail Baddoo, stated that the Zongo communities delivered all 24 branches for the NDC and contributed over 2,500 votes to the party’s 5,000-vote victory margin. Yet, he said, none of their members has received any appointments.
