Bechem United sack coach Desmond Issah-Botchway after poor start

-

Bechem United have parted ways with head coach Desmond Issah-Botchway following a difficult start to the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.

Assistant coach Bright Anthony Konadu has also left the club.

The Hunters have struggled in the opening eight matches, recording just one win, three draws, and four defeats. Their tally of six points from a possible 24 sees them languishing in 16th place on the league table.

In a statement released on Monday, the club thanked Issah-Botchway for his service and wished him well in his future endeavours.

An interim technical team will be appointed to oversee preparations for Bechem United’s upcoming league fixture while the club searches for a new head coach.

Bechem United were held to a goalless draw by Nations FC at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park on Friday, October 31, in their Week 8 encounter.

The 2016 FA Cup champions are expected to announce a permanent replacement in the coming days ahead of their Matchday 9 clash against Young Apostles at the Wench Sports Stadium.
