Cape Coast Youth urged to embrace free TVET programme to gain employable skills

The Director of Springs for Skills College, Kiki Bruce, has urged the youth of Cape Coast and the Central Region to take full advantage of the government’s Free Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programme to acquire employable skills and transform their lives.

She made the call during the college’s maiden graduation ceremony in Cape Coast, where eighty-four students successfully completed various skills training programmes.

Madam Bruce challenged the perception that poverty in Cape Coast and the Central Region stems from a lack of job opportunities, stressing that the youth can change this narrative through skills acquisition.

She commended the government for introducing the free TVET initiative, describing it as a major step toward empowering young people and addressing unemployment.

Also speaking at the event, the Principal of Asuansi Technical Institute encouraged all Ghanaians, regardless of their educational background, to learn a trade or technical skill.

He emphasized that Technical and Vocational Education and Training holds the key to sustainable job creation and national development, adding that skill development remains vital to reducing unemployment across the country.
