Detective Sergeant Confidence Fiagadzi of the Ghana Police Service has been honoured as the CID of the Year at this year’s Ghana Governance and Leadership Awards, held in Airport View Hotel,  Accra.

The award recognizes his outstanding integrity, exemplary investigative work, and unwavering dedication to justice and public service.

Renowned for his guiding principle, “Truth over comfort, service over silence, integrity over compromise”, Detective Sergeant Fiagadzi’s career reflects a deep commitment to moral leadership and excellence in policing.

Born and raised in Nkwanta, Fiagadzi’s journey from humble beginnings to national recognition is a story of faith, discipline, and service. After completing his education at Kpando Technical Institute, where he distinguished himself as a student leader, he joined the Ghana Police Service in 2012.

He trained at the Kumasi Police Training Depot and was later attached to the Formed Police Unit (FPU) in Tesano. His dedication and professionalism soon earned him a place on the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in South Sudan, where he represented Ghana with distinction.

Detective Sergeant Fiagadzi has received several national and institutional honors for his integrity and leadership. In 2021, he was named Integrity Personality of the Year by the Transparency Ghana Integrity Initiative during the U.N. Anti-Corruption Day celebration.

His exemplary conduct continued to earn him recognition, including the Legacy Builder of the Year and Rising Star of the Year awards in 2025. His latest honour as Outstanding CID of the Year cements his place as one of the most respected officers in the Ghana Police Service.

Beyond his law enforcement duties, Fiagadzi is also pursuing higher education at Pentecost University, studying Logistics and Supply Chain Management. He currently serves as SRC Vice-President (2024/2025) and was recently honoured with the Church of Pentecost Chairman’s Award for excellence in leadership and service.

A devoted Christian, husband, and father of three, Fiagadzi worships with The Church of Pentecost, Darkuman District – English Assembly, where he serves as Media Director and Faithful Gent President. His personal life mirrors his professional ethos — one of faith, humility, and responsibility.

In his acceptance remarks, Detective Sergeant Fiagadzi expressed gratitude for the recognition, dedicating the award to his colleagues and the entire Ghana Police Service.

“This honor belongs to the Inspector General of Police, the Director General of CID, and every officer who serves with honesty, courage, and compassion. Together, we must continue to build a Ghana where justice is fair to all, not selective.”

The award, presented under the theme “Governance and Leadership,” underscores the role of ethical leadership in nation-building. Detective Sergeant Fiagadzi’s recognition stands as an inspiration to young officers and a reminder that true greatness is built on faith, discipline, and service to humanity.
