The General Manager of the Adom brands at the Multimedia Group, Abdulai Awudu, has been officially inaugurated as the new President of the Ghana Independent Broadcasters Association (GIBA).
The ceremony, held on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at the Coconut Grove Regency Hotel in Accra, marked the formal investiture of the newly elected Executive Council, months after their election.

Other members of the council who were sworn into office are Thomas Eshun as Vice President as well as Samuel Yaw Asamoah, Muniru Ibrahim, Rauf Abdul Mahama, all of whom were elected unopposed.
Mr. Awudu succeeds Cecil Thomas Sunkwa-Mills, under whose tenure the association strengthened its advocacy for the interests of private broadcasters in Ghana.

The event drew key figures from the country’s media and communications sectors, including representatives from the National Communications Authority (NCA), the National Media Commission (NMC), the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), the Private Newspaper and Online News Publishers Association of Ghana (PRINPAG), the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), and the Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA).
The investiture reaffirmed GIBA’s commitment to promoting media freedom, professionalism and collaboration across the broadcasting industry.
